1. Acceptance

By creating an account and using calibRATER, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.

2. What calibRATER is

calibRATER is a personal restaurant rating and discovery tool. It helps you track your dining experiences, calibrate your taste over time, and discover restaurants aligned with your preferences. It is not a review platform. Your ratings are private unless you explicitly share them.

3. Your account

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account. You must provide a valid email address. You may not create accounts on behalf of others or use the app for any purpose other than personal, non-commercial restaurant tracking.

4. Your content

Ratings, notes, and other content you enter remain yours. By using the app, you grant calibRATER a limited licence to store and process your content solely to provide the service. We do not claim ownership of your data.

5. Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the app, attempt to reverse-engineer it, submit false or misleading ratings, or use it in any way that could harm other users or the service itself.

6. Personalised recommendations

calibRATER may use your ratings — in anonymised, aggregated form — to generate personalised restaurant recommendations. Recommendations are produced by statistical modelling of rating patterns and are not guaranteed to be accurate. They are provided for informational and discovery purposes only. Your individual ratings are never shared with other users.

7. Restaurant data

Restaurant information (hours, address, cuisine type) is sourced from Google Places and may not always be accurate or current. calibRATER is not responsible for inaccuracies in third-party data.

8. Availability

We aim to keep calibRATER available at all times but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. We may update, modify, or discontinue features at any time.

9. Limitation of liability

calibRATER is provided "as is." We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app, including any decisions made based on restaurant recommendations.

10. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app evolves. We will notify you of material changes via email at least 7 days before they take effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
